The XVII Dixieland Festival starts next 24th March

Tarragona. Costa Dorada. Tarragona celebrates another year the International Dixieland Festival, from 24 to 28 March. This year the Festival is dedicated to the great guitarist Django Reinhardt, the centenary of his birth. During these 5 days of music groups performing in Paris and Catalan musicians and groups who give their support to the festival. A total of 23 bands are in the program of this new edition of the event's most prominent jazz demarcation.

Tribute
This year the Festival will be dedicated to the great guitarist Django Reinhardt, the centenary of his birth (January 1910 - May 1953). Reindhart was a contemporary of the great names of American Jazz and Dixie and played with some of them become part of the Duke Ellington Orchestra. Its more personal contribution, however, jazz manouche, swing can be considered the true European.

Invited
Following the line of homage to Reinhardt, the foreign groups invited to the festival come from the French capital, birthplace jazz manouche and accurate representation of what is today this musical style.

As usual, Tarragona Dixieland Festival will also have the participation of Catalan artists, musicians and local groups that provide support for the festival since its inception. A total of 23 bands that pass through different scenes in the city of Tarragona has prepared eg fans of the festival ..

The city with Dixieland
More than 16 establishments in the city wanted to participate in this new edition of Tarragona Dixieland. They will host the festival performances, thus supporting live music and the event itself.

As in other years, we must remember that the streets also fill with music and the essence of jazz with musical tours will be conducted by the Rambla Nova during the festival.
