The traditional nativity scene sandy Pineda will be open until 9 January

Vila-seca. Costa Dorada. Several artists from Europe have risen on the beach in La Pineda sand a crib can be visited until January 9. To build this monumental sculpture, artists have spent a week of work, from day 3 until 10 December.

The spectacular sand sculpture, which is a surprise each year who decide their own sculptors and is revealed only once begins to take shape, has approximately 600 tons of sand to be reused year after year.

Coordinated by Núria Vallverdú, project manager, other sculptors involved in the construction of the crib of sand are Niall Magee (Ireland), Ludo Rodero (Netherlands), Martijn Rijersde (Netherlands), Anique Kuizenga (Holland), Bruno MacDonald (Denmark), Daniel Doyle (Ireland), and Mario Hernandez (Catalunya).

One of the sculptors Daniel Doyle Irish, explained that Pineda and go to build the crib at Christmas is like coming home ', as he has been so far the only sculptor who has participated every year in building the manger the beach of La Pineda. He also stressed his thanks to Pineda because "despite the global situation we live, the city is still committed to this project."

This year as a novelty, Nuria Velasco commented that 'it wanted to perpetuate the history of the crib with a book on the history of the twelve editions of La Pineda manger'. With a circulation of 700 copies, the project, promoted by Núria Vallverdú and Mario Hernandez, has a wide selection of photographs and explanation of the procedure to build it. This book, which has received the cooperation of the Municipal Tourism Vila-seca, the Municipality of Vila-seca, the Social "la Caixa", the Hotel Estival Park and the group El Toro and Mula, will be available in libraries of Barcelona, ​​Tarragona, Vila-seca and a stop that will enable the manger in front of sand.
